This past weekend we had a Beautini wedding in Chicago and I decided to spend the weekend there. It was my second time visiting Chicago so I knew my way around a bit, but still got to try out some new places. Here are some restaurants, bars, and landmarks that I highly recommend you check out if you’re in the Chicago area!
FOOD AND DRINK
I went to River Roast for brunch. I got the hash and French toast. The hash was totally amazing, but the potatoes were a little soggy. I would recommend getting the side of potatoes, as well, to avoid this problem. Other than that, though, everything at River Roast was great!
Lou Malnati’s is one of the many Chicago pizza spots that I have eaten at. This was actually my second time there and it did not disappoint and certainly satisfied my craving for some Chicago pizza!
Parlor Pizza is a great spot for drinks at night. It has a rooftop, as well, which gives it that hip and trendy NYC vibe. It is a great spot to meet other fun, young professionals and it has a more relaxed vibe, which I really liked. Also, the Bachelor contestants were there just a few weeks ago, so you can really channel your inner Rachel while having a drink!
I went to Cindy’s Rooftop for a drink. The cocktail mixologists are top notch and my drink was nothing shy of amazing. Seriously, it was so good! The restaurant also has great views of Millennium Park, making it a perfect rooftop spot.
Ghirardelli Ice Cream Shop
The last time I visited a Ghirardelli was in Disney World in California, so coming here was certainly a sweet treat!
Paris Nightclub is your best bet for a true night out with a DJ and tons of dancing!
The Roof at The Godfrey Hotel
This is where I stayed. I also met up with a friend at the rooftop bar. It was a really fun scene! I would recommend it for happy hour because the line gets long later in the night.
Hub 51 + Joy District Chicago
This place had delicious tacos and cocktails. A bit more casual, but a very cool night scene. I did not visit it, but there is also a club downstairs in the restaurant. There is also a great bar right across the street called Joy District Chicago. They had excellent drinks and the perfect atmosphere!
The Bean in Millennium Park
This is a must-see, iconic Chicago landmark! It is a great spot for photos and there are always a ton of people there, so it is a great place to people watch. There is also a theatre nearby where they do outdoor concerts.
The Beach on Oak Street
This beach had a great view of the city and was really nice and relaxing. There was even a little restaurant right on the beach, which was really cool!
That’s all for my adventures in Chicago this time. Can’t wait for next time!
