What To Wear For A Wedding By The Beach!

10 Dress Ideas For A Wedding By the Beach

When you are invited to a wedding near the beach, especially on the West Coast, it's probably best to not assume it’s casual unless specified in the invitation! Oftentimes, a beach wedding is just several subtle shifts away from normal wedding attire and still technically requires cocktail attire.

Here are some helpful wedding-hacks to remember for weddings by the beach:

1. Most weddings by the beach are not intended to be casual - Avoid Hawaiian prints and sundresses, unless the invitation specifically says otherwise.

2. Gravitate towards neutrals and pastels because they will fit the beach wedding aesthetic!

3. If you plan on wearing darker colors, such as a navy blue or dark grey, consider wearing it for fall or winter beach weddings (colder temperatures).

4. Lean away from bold colors for a beach wedding (avoid bright reds).

5. Even though many people typically wear white at the beach, don't wear a white dress to a beach wedding - you don't want to take the attention away from the bride!
